For my Bachelor-thesis I collaborated with Anne B. Meyer . We made an online-magazine about the lake Cosbuden in Leipzig, a former brown coal open cast, which is now transformed into a landscape for leisure. Our aim was not to design a touristic brochure, rather we intended to shed light on the people, the way they have experienced the shift from an industrial vestige to a leisure destination. Insofar we wanted to represent the different atmospheres and experiences of these rather artificial landscape. Hereby our main focus was the relationship between the local population and their “new” lake. Positive and negative aspects of the process of re-cultivation we intended to address. Given its close distance to the city center of Leipzig, the lake is very popular among the city dwellers. The underlying theme “transformation” has also influenced our own working methods and techniques: shifting from analogue to digital and finally finding a fruitful syntheses of different media.
